NetDevices Service Gateway software provides the most comprehensive integrated platform for IP services required by enterprise networks available in the industry.
The NetDevices Services Gateway (SG) software is an integrated networking platform designed to provide data, security, and voice services. SG software can cover the full range of enterprise network needs from cost sensitive customer premise equipment to high performance data center systems. The platform is open to enable integration of customer and partner applications as needed. The NetDevices SG software delivers Firewall, Denial of Service Protection, Application Level Gateways, Intrusion Detection and Prevention, IPSec VPN, QoS, Ethernet switching, IP routing and other services as discrete components within a single software package. By leveraging a highly modular system design and innovative management architecture, NetDevices SG software can provide the desired combinations of services for an enterprise network with comprehensive remote management.
At the heart of NetDevices SG software is a state-of-the-art, enterprise class forwarding engine that includes many unique
capabilities. As multiple services are added to the system, scalability and performance are maintained through NetDevices’ unique OnePass™ approach that performs common packet classification and inspection across multiple services. NetDevices ModuLive™ operating system maximizes system availability by enabling in-service upgrades and configuration changes without requiring a reboot of the system. These “hitless� changes can be deployed for entire services or for the most granular of software features, such as a specific routing protocol. NetDevices’ unique LifeLine™ management framework maintains a separate logical management plane ensuring management traffic reaches the system 100% of the time. This framework also provides continuous health checking of the system services, ensuring maximum availability and minimizing the need for network administration.
NetDevices SG software is easily extended through the addition of partner and customer software. Higher layer applications may be ported into the system that may benefit from close coupling with network services, such as network monitoring applications or server maintenance utilities. Depending on system requirements, these services and applications may be hosted in logically separate processes on a single processor or physically separate hardware.
