The NetDevices 8-port Layer 2 10/100/1000 Fast Ethernet Switch line card is an intelligent managed Ethernet switch on a blade for the NetDevices family of unified services gateways. It offers enterprise branch office customers the option to integrate LAN switching, routing, firewall and security onto one platform. Integrating L2 switching onto the NetDevices system reduces network management complexity by unifying multiple networking functions on the same platform. This line card provides high performance L2 switching between all the ports on the card. Routing between different VLANs is provided by the Services Engine. The L2 Ethernet Switch line card is supported on the NetDevices SG-8 platform.
