SGX-500 Delivers Enterprise-Class Service Gateway Features Providing Small Branch Offices with Compelling Branch-In-a-Box Solution

Sunnyvale, Calif., October 16, 2006 — NetDevices, Inc., a developer of services gateway products for enterprise branch networks, today announced that it has expanded its product line with the SGX-500 Services Gateway, the first in a family of fixed-configuration service gateway platforms targeted at small to medium businesses (SMB) and the small branch office market. The SGX-500 delivers the complete range of services offered by the larger SG-4 and SG-8 products, including extensive security, enterprise-class routing and support for VoIP. The SGX-500 also leverages core NetDevices technologies such as ModuLive™ which ensures maximum software resiliency and availability and OnePass™ which ensures scalable performance across multiple services.

The SGX-500 is a 1 RU service gateway with 4 10/100 Ethernet ports and a WAN interface. Three models are offered: T1, ADSL or ISDN BRI. All of the models support NetDevices complete range of software services, including Firewall, Denial of Service Protection, Application Level Gateways, Intrusion Detection and Prevention, Anti-Virus, IP Sec VPN, QoS, IP routing and Ethernet switching. The SGX-500 provides a compelling alternative to multiple standalone appliances, which by comparison can be difficult to manage and introduce multiple failure points that can reduce network uptime for the branch office.
